Today I had the privilege of visiting the faculty for the Interior and Spatial design course at the Bucks New University.
Meeting many of the team who deliver the BA (Hons) Interior & Spatial Design, it was clear that whilst the course has been running since 1975, it has had to change and adapt during that time. The advent of technology and the move from traditional, drawing and model making through to much more screen based design work has brought changes. We spoke of the need for adapting the skill set to meet the needs of the modern world.
When looking around their facilities and discussing the changing world of interior and spatial design, there were still examples of creativity from a work-space point of view and they were keen to understand more about how we approach our work with clients. We also covered the importance of relationship building and the world of social media to an office workspace specialist who focuses on the importance of design.
Their in-house professional film-maker Harrison Boileau has created a video about the course and it was from this video that I picked up the title of this post. When you sense something about the company you work for, it’s even more powerful when others notice it as well, even though they may only be with us for a couple of weeks.
The course and space pod have a close relationship, with members of the course visiting and gaining work experience as well as being able to compete for a prestigious award which was presented last year by Fi Mathieson.
